Hand-carved with Provincial carving and hand-painted in an aged ecru on the outside with a dark midnight blue patina on the inside writing section

The piece is made in the Louis XVI style featuring solid brass ormolu of the same period style atop the fluted side columns and feet as well as framing all five drawers

tressaille work and a stylised fleur-de-lys at the centre front
