While certainly a quality '76 I was somewhat disappointed by the lack of excellent depth and length

The mid-palate of the broad-shouldered flavors is pliant yet intense and muscular while the driving finish possesses breathtakingly good depth and persistence on the imposingly structured but not really rigid or unduly austere finale

Here the nose is also discreet and brooding with incredible aromatic breadth that includes similar violet notes but the fruit profile is more black and red than blue plus a kaleidoscopic array of spice elements
