Round Reed by the Pound a beginner's bookPrepared in the traditional way and scraped on both sides, these Ash Splints are great for baskets 3 inches and larger. Thickness appropriate for small to medium size baskets. (Narrower widths for weavers are lighter in weight. Wider widths for staves are heavier in weight.) Ash is a natural material, cut from different parts of the whole ash log, and colors of splint vary from light to a bit darker.
