In our rock hounding of beaches in the UP near our home in Ashland we've identified some unusual Lake Superior agates that occur in a small range of just a couple beaches

I polished one end which shows the tree rings in the ancient wood. This piece really is perfect for a collection. It's not overly large and has excellent character. It still looks like the wood that was replaced by stone in it's mineralization process. This measures about 2. 3 x 1. 2 inches.
