Bacchus Seated Pedestal who adored a veiled ChristSeated Bacchus Statue, after the antique by Erik Gustaf Gthe (26 July 1779 29 November 1838) was a Swedish sculptor. This full figure marble statue of Bacchus, the wine god, highlights Erik Gustaf Gthe's talent in neoclassical sculptural style. After completing training at the Academy of Arts in 1803 he traveled to Italy and studied under Antonio Canova. He completed Seated Bacchus for the outside of Rosendal Palace in Stockholm. A beautiful
