The scene combines a group of people coming out of the French Chapel, Soho on the right with a group of people eating and drinking in the tavern on the left. It shows the Huguenot congregation emerging from the French Church in Soho. The Huguenot refugees who arrived in the 1680s used it as their first place of worship.
