I had planned to photograph around Bear Lake one morning

Putting my ice cream down on a warm February day I captured the lines of the water coming on the beach

The image started to remind us of the ocean and motion

My plan was to find a good location with a view of the mountains and then see what the approach pattern was for the evening

Sunset in Greenland Presentation:Matted I had planned to photographFrom the back of the M V Ocean Nova I watched the sunset as we sailed south through the a fjord in the Northeast Greenland National Park. The layers of the rocks and water itself helped ground the image to provide a sense of place with the orange sky during dusk which also lit up the only clouds I saw on this day. While this was in early September, it would only be a couple of months until this area is frozen over with sea ice for the winter.
