Yep, a Chardonnay, grown on a band of silex which was supposed to be used for sparkling wine, but now the vines have got 20 years age on them, the Berthier family decided to make them into a still wine, of which this is the maiden release. Only 1700 bottles have been produced.

This battles with Savart's wines to be my favourite richer style of Champagne

so is classified as AOC Bordeaux Superieur

Floral notes from the German/Alsace varieties and then some weight from the Chardonnay comes through to give floral notes
